• Our High Fired Montmorillonite Horticultural Calcined Clay is a Premium Quality Soil Amendment for Bonsai, Succulents, Cacti, and all kinds of Indoor plants. It's the USA sourced and produced version of Japanese Akadama That is more durable, resistant to break down and lasts longer due to its high temperature firing.
• The Superior High Porosity makes it ideal for both Excellent Drainage or water through flow and Optimal Moisture Retention by holding water in the pores. Water is then released as needed to keep the soil from getting soggy, muddy or wet, and preventing it from excessively drying out or desiccation.
• Calcined clays irregular shape provides open air spaces and soil aeration which promotes root growth and avoids root rot. With a slightly acidic pH, it introduces acidity that plants love and helps balance alkaline products like pumice or lava rock.
